6. The contest day

Most awaited Sunday here. Feels like past couple of days I was just dreaming and now woke up from the sleep! Me and Smiley were all set for the contest.

I got ready and got Smiley ready too. We went to the ground where the pet show was hosted. and got registered. Woooow!!!! what a mesmerizing sight. It was festival to the eyes of pet lovers. I could see many breeds of cats and dogs but could identify only a few. My favorite breed of dog was dalmatian and Smiley was of that breed; luckily I did not see many people having a dalmatian; so I got more interested in understanding the variety of dogs that were present at the show, each one looked so beautiful and unique. I did not know much about cats and their breeds but it was really fantastic to see those beautiful cats and kittens there!

The show began and the host announced - "Good morning and welcome to the greatest pet show of the year. We welcome the greatest animal lover and chimpanzee expert of our times - Jane Goodall. She and her team will be judging the show today. It's an honor to have you on the dais ma'm. Welcome again, to the show.

We have 50 participants in each pet category and at the end of the show there will be two winners, one for each category - cats and dogs, and two runners up. The winners would be getting cash prizes of Rs. 50,000 each and the runners up would get Rs. 25,000 each."

Unending applauds and cheers added more colors to the show.

The host continued to explain the rules - "There are 3 rounds in the show. Each participant pet will be given marks in each round and the winners will be the ones who receive the maximum number of points at the end of all the three rounds. Come on, let's start...."

     Applauds, whistles and claps...

The show was over in an hour. Local authorities had organized few cultural events just after the three round were complete. There were songs, dances, skits and stunts by few renowned local cultural groups, few of them were participants in the pet show as well. It was an amazing part of the show and audience were completely enjoying it all for two hours long without any disturbances.

The host announced about the next steps and judges took over the dais to announce the prizes. The runner up for 'dogs' category is Smiley (applauds). The runner up for 'cats' category is Daisy (applauds). The winner of 'dogs' category is Johnny (extended applauds). And lastly, the winner of 'cats' category is Beauty (more applauds)."

I was happy about the show. I had won Rs. 25,000. I was more happy to see the girl who was Beauty. Amazing, she was to be named beauty rather than her cat!! What a girl she was! Stunning looks, perfect attitude, great love, and peaceful face were appealing me to propose her to marry me!! The announcement was over and I was just looking at her like a crazy fellow, without realizing that she was actually walking towards me and other winners and runners up to congratulate us. She came to me and congratulated too; I congratulated her back and each one of us congratulated each other and when we were about to disperse, I proposed to her!

She just laughed uncontrollably and walk away from there without any understandable response to my proposal.
